I Want to Go Shoppinggggggg...Grr

BLARGH!

Nat, Bekk, Justy and Ted are coming over today to watch movies and order pizza because everyone else went to the mountain this weekend and we all felt left out, but then we found out that they're all back now, so it's sort of strange but we're still doing it.

Evan came over last night at 9.30 because we were both bored and he was hungry, haha. He must've been really lonely because he biked all the way over and stayed until just before 12. We ate spinach pizza and watched Seinfeld (he told me his mom calls it Seinfield) and nearly pissed ourselves laughing because we were THAT overtired. Then he spilled water all over the couch and we had to lie on the floor.

This week dragged by and tired me out, possibly also because I had two driving lessons, and also went out with my papa one day in my truck, and I was just absolutely exhausted after all of those. I must be stressing myself out or something, which I am really not used to. My stupid fricking test for my N is on the 30th, which is right after exams for school, so I feel like I have absolutely no time and this month is so condensed and everything is happening all at once. Me no likey. I mean, as it was all happening it was fine, good even, with school and all that, but after the fact when I would just sit and think, all I could think about was how completely exhausted I am. Urgghhh.

Mexico was alright. I don't know, I wasn't super stoked the entire time. I was super stoked to see Adam, that was great, although I didn't really get to say goodbye to him before he went back to school because...well, I don't know. But I had said to him in the airport "I probably won't see you before you go back to school," and he said not to worry about it and that we had lots of time. I didn't really get my hopes up though. So anyway, Mexico, it was good. I had a fever on New Years so I stayed in our room the whole night, which, really, was just fine with me because at least there the music was only TOO LOUD instead of EXTREMELY RIDICULOUSLY TOO LOUD anywhere else in the hotel. Oh yeah, I had a major throbbing headache as well. At midnight it was pretty cool though, because all along the coast every resort had fireworks, so you had all these huge fireworks all around you, and then if you looked farther off, you would see all these mini fireworks because they were so far away, but you really had no sense of distance because it was pitch black otherwise. Very cool. Adam told me that they went on the roof of their condo and watched all the fireworks because they were pretty high up. AND he drank a bit! I was shocked, haha.
Highlights were the boat trip we took, we saw humpback whales and went snorkeling. Then the night after New Years we met these two guys from Chicago at the bar, Matt and Mike, 22 and 19 I think. They were very cool and taught us drinking games and mom got smashed but it was all really very fun. OH! Hahahaha, at one point I left to go to the bathroom (we were all taking turns because it was pretty far away, and this one game we were playing required everyone), and when I came back, as I got in sight of the bar, I hear Mike go "YEEEESSSSSSSS!!!" and when I get to the bar he's says "YOU'RE BACK!!! I'VE BEEN DRINKING FOR YOU!" But I didn't know, so I wasn't hurrying or anything, and so he's pretty drunk by now because he's been drinking all my turns, as well as his own! I just laughed at him and said "How sweet of you!" Hahaha, he was pretty pleased with himself.

I think what sort of spoiled things was when I got back and saw all the pictures from things I had missed. Everyone said nothing really exciting went down anyway, because it snowed pretty much the entire time we were gone, but Bren, Justy, Dave, Ian and Victoria went to Vancouver for a day and shopped and hung out, and I would've LOVED to go because I haven't hung out with Dave and Ian forEVER because they're always so fricking busy! Shucks. Bren even said, when we hung out the day after I got back, that they were all just there for a while, and then all of a sudden basically stopped and were like "Something is wrong. Melissa should be here." DANGIT! But I love them, still. And then on New Years pretty much everyone excellent got together and it looked like a great party. I couldn't even look at all the pictures. Ohh, depression. What you do to me!

Anywayyy, what was I getting at??? Oh, god, right. I want to go shopping! Hahaha, wtf? I never want to go shopping! Well, really, my big plan is this; I want to get some all white converse, and then get everyone to doodle all over them with my coloured Sharpies and they will eventually just be these rainbow masses of friendlies and awesome! They will be beautiful and my most prized possession! I thought of it because of everyone that's going away, and I was going to do it more in the summer-ish, but really, I WANT THEM NOW! But first I have to buy them, which I guess makes sense.
Also, if you can believe it, I want MORE BOOKS! Frick, I just want a huge stockpile. I want to horde them and read them all at once. I'll need to buy more bookmarks. And tea! And I'll just hibernate and not worry about school or driving or any of that shit and just lose myself in these books. Yes, that is what I would like the most right now, please and thank you very much.

Hmm, there are breakfast smells coming from downstairs...

Also. I want a vintage metal ID case. Craps though! No one knows what these are, but they're excellent and I want one. I saw some when Justy and I went to Vancouver for the concert, but I didn't get one because I didn't know if I'd have enough money left for a t-shirt and the ferry home, so I didn't get it, and then after I counted up my change, and of COURSE I would've had enough! So now I have to go and find some more and they'll probably be more expensive and blah blah blah. LETS GO ANTIQUING! (I'm hoping they might have one at the antique store in Idaho, even though that's a good, oh...month and a half away? OH YEAH! THAT'S THE OTHER PART OF MY STRESSES! February-May is, like, PRIME band trip season, so we're all off doing all these competitions at the beginning of the new semester. Sucks. Anyway...)

HHHHhhhhhokay, I think that's it. Well, at least I know that this was what I needed, I feel better, just writing random garbage. Goooood. Oh! My books! I will gather them all! Tee hee!
TOODLES AND CHEERS

Music; Frick, NOTHING. I'll put something on while I get my books... Okay.
Bon Iver - Re: Stacks (MAIS! Ted made me a mix CD! It's sooo good! There's only one song that I didn't like, and, like...6 that I keep listening to! Really good! Snaps for Ted. Plus it was just so out of the blue, I was so excited, haha. And he was so nervous! Thought I wouldn't like it. Jeeze! Love it. Anyway, my fav would probably beeee...right now at least, Little Person by Jon Brion. So lovely and lonely.)

Books!!!
Hmm, well, looking back, I finished Paper Towns. Loved it, though it left me feeling a bit empty.

I still haven't started reading The Tao of Pooh because Eric lent it to a girl at his work, so I will get that later. Not like I'm in dire need of reading material though.
I'm STILL working on Playing for Pizza by John Grisham. I left it at school for a while to read there, but it was really dragging in places I thought, so I sort of forgot about it. Cleaned out my locker before Christmas break and brought it home so it can stare me in the eye and shout at me to finish it. Jeeze, be quiet.
Speaking of unfinished books, I put a hold on A Disorder Peculiar to the Country by Ken Kalfus because it was depressing me. I'm only about 1/3 through. Shucks!
Started Poppy Shakespeare by Clare Allen on our holiday as just a light read. It was pretty difficult to get into at first, but now it's picking up and I'm enjoying it more.
Also started Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer which I'm truly in love with right now. I haven't picked it up in a few days because I don't want it to be over. One of those books I'll probably start again right after I've finished it. I only realized that it was the same author as Everything is Illuminated after I bought it, and I was liking it so much that I went and bought Everything is Illuminated the other day. I want to start it so badly but I'm saving it until I can give it my full attention. It's just so delicious and yellow, sitting on my bookshelf. Rawr!!! I'm going to get the movie too, when I get around to it.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Jazz Age Stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald, I made my mom get this book for me to give to me for Christmas. I started it from the beginning in Mexico (it's a bunch of short stories), but after the first story, I skipped to the back and Read Benjamin Button. I got it because of the movie, obviously, and I really want to see it.
I still have The Kite Runner from last year that I haven't even opened yet. I feel bad about that.
Norman Bray in the Performance of His Life by Trevor Cole and Way Past Legal by Norman Green are the last two books that I have that I haven't started that I chose based on title/cover/back of the book blurb. Good stuff.

HEY! FIRST POST OF 2009! ROCKS!
(Uuuuugh, I really don't want to DO anything today, but I know I have people coming over in less than an hour and I have to get ready and clean the house a bit and all I can think to myself is "Let's try to be happy, yeah?" Gosh. I know I'll cheer up once they're here, but I still have to get from HERE to THERE. Heck.)
